Budapest Operetta Theatre

HAHAHAHA!!!! my sis and i were really really excited to watch this concert today, unfortnately it wasn’t what we expected…yes it was great…both the orchestra and the conductor were fantastic…the accents on every piece could be clearly heard…and the winds section sounded like they would never run out of breath ;p

the singers weren’t that impressive though…the hungarians lacked the roundness and volume i’ve grown accustomed to hearing from tita cam and tito pabs…plus they weren’t that good with their english so some of the  songs sounded really funny….;p what was noticeable with the hungarians however, was that they could dance(and i mean dance!) and still sing at the same time…sure the volume wasn’t really there…but they sounded so natural, like they were singing while standing still…;p the pinay on the other hand was really weird…she sang "tonight" from "west side story" while wearing something which looked like a cocktail dress and a crown of some sort on her hair…and when she sang, it sounded like she wasn’t sure if she could reach the high notes or not…

the show itself had its own weird moment when after the orchestra played the intro, the ccp’s main theater suddenly experienced technical difficulties and we had to wait about 10 minutes before the show continued…

i guess when you have family who sing the opera, you kindda have high expectations for this kind of thing…although this concert(even with all the happenings) is still no match compared to william george’s concert(he’s still the worst singer for me…;p)
